Description
Terrestrial Globe. 6" Dia. Geographic Educator. New York: Geographic Educator Corp., 1927. Terrestrial globe comprised of seven horizontal sections each with printed and varnished paper gores on their exterior sides, the interior of six of the horizontal sections have recessed areas in the shapes of the continents and raised outlines for text and various other geographic features such as islands, the globe is on an ornate brown-painted cast-iron tripod base, canted on a metal angle arm, and surmounted by a brass finial. Approximately 12 inches tall, and the globe is 6 inches in diameter. Toning, losses, and cracks to the printed surface, two of the horizontal sections with glue-repaired breaks, lacking the interior puzzle pieces, brass finial and cast-iron base with rubbing and wear, sold as is.
