An original Edith Head costume design for a long black gown and white gloves worn by Claire Trevor in the 1955 film Lucy Gallant. Trevor played the stylish madame, Lady "Mac" Beth, in this drama set in a small Texas oil boom town where the fashionable world of dress-designing meets a plush bordello. The film was a veritable showcase for Head's costume designs. It not only features an on-screen fashion show, but exact replicas of the dresses in the film were available for purchase at local department stores.
