Comprising 12 dinner forks, 14 dinner knives, 9 luncheon forks, 12 luncheon knives, 11 oval bowl soup/dessert spoons, 13 teaspoons, 14 demitasse spoons, 12 place/table spoons, 5 breakfast knives, 5 fruit knives, 2 sauce ladles, 1 sugar sifter, 1 egg spoon, 3 carving forks and 3 carving knives, with heraldic crest surmounted by a coronet. The crest is that of Montagu, Duke of Manchester.
The earlier pieces in this service were in the collection of William Drogo Montagu, 7th Duke of Manchester (1823-1890) and the set was expanded by William Angus Drogo Montagu, 9th Duke of Manchester (1877-1947).
