Description
(Disney, 1946) An original concept painting for "Walt Disney's Song of the South" by Walt Disney Studios color stylist Mary Blair. Blair began her career at Disney in 1940 and did preliminary concept work on "Dumbo", before becoming a color stylist for Saludos Amigos", The Three Caballeros", and the animated sequences of "Song of the South." Her cutting-edge arrangements of color palette led to memorable contributions toward the production of Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, and multiple short films. Accomplished in gouache on artist's board, the piece has a painted image size of 9.25"x9" on its 11"x10.5" artist's board. It is in very good condition, exhibiting minor surface wear and pinholes in the corners.
