A RARE STONE CYLINDRICAL TRIPOD INCENSE BURNER AND COVER
Song Dynasty
The cover pierced with a central wan symbol, the body set on three bracket feet, the stone of mottled grey cream and russet hues.

Compare with a similar 'wan' stone incense burner, exhibited and published, Littleton and Hennessy, The Art of Scent, November 2010, catalogue no. 7, where it is noted that an identical censer was excavated from a Northern Song tomb in Shaanxi, Lantian.
