Description
Two landscape prints by Chinese artist Shitao (1656-1707). They are matted and framed under glass and they measure 13 inches x 16 inches each. These pieces are believed to be over 50 years old. These were acquired from a Virginia estate. The translated writing in one states, “The large version is connected with Taofeng Tingba. Di Shuo said that the mind is created by Shui Qiuling. The lake can be seen without wine. The water can be smelled by the fox cave.”. The translated writing in the other states, ”Drinking fresh food from the West, the fireworks at the Yellow Crane Tower are in March. The solitary sail in Yangzhou is only seen in the distant shadow in the blue sky. The skyline of the Yangtze River is flowing with Li Huanghe Tower sending Meng off. The awe-inspiring Guangling.
