Featured in this lot is this Sgraffito pottery vessel by Navajo artist Venita Whitegoat circa 1980's. The vessel features a wonderfully and professionally crafted ceramic and polychrome color construction that shows the Sgraffio style of incised ceramics made famous by Iconic Susie Charlie of the Navajo/ Dine Tribe. Venita Whitegoat is a full blooded Native American Indian, and was born in 1967 into the Navajo Nation. Venita was inspired to continue the tradition started by Susie Charlie. The pottery vessel is marked on the bottom as follows: Venita Whitegoat - Navajo. The condition of this Navajo pottery vessel is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this pottery vessel is 4 3/4" x 5 1/2" x 5 1/2". The collective weight of this pottery vessel is 1lb 2oz.
