Description
Hubert Brinkforth (1916-1942) Highly decorated Unteroffizier and Richtschuetze during the Battle of France. He succeeded in destroying nine enemy tanks during the 20 minutes battle near Abbeville in May 1940. Nominated by General Erich von Manstein, he was the first enlisted soldier to receive the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. Brinkforth was killed in action on 5 June 1942 near Pogostje, Russia at the age of 26. Signed Hoffmann postcard, autographed in black ink. 3.5 x 5.5 inches. Album paper remnants on verso.
