"Each Kachina Doll represents a different spirit in the Hopi religion. The total number of Kachinas is around 250 and some vary from village to village. Because of the religious regard that Hopi carvers have for their Kachinas, they do not carve them often to be sold. Most often Kachinas that are carved and sold are done by either Navajo Indian or Zuni Indian carvers."
