The face of each lithograph contains the edition number in pencil, the ateliers blind embossed S2 official seal plus the blind embossed seal of the original publisher. Each Limited Edition lithograph was crafted by hand on rare 19th Century, Voirin Flatbed presses by the prestigious S2 Editions Atelier, in New York City. These presses utilize numerous separate plates and print only one color at a time, thus producing the finest quality and most artistic lithographs possible. All the plates used to create this art are destroyed subsequent to pulling the edition limit. No further lithographs utilizing these plates will ever be produced. Each lithograph is one of a limited edition numbered to 9,500 not including 15 printers proofs, and 500 Museum Editions. The Yellow Kid is an American comic strip character that appeared from 1895 to 1898 in Joseph Pulitzers New York World, and later William Randolph Hearsts New York Journal. Created and drawn by Richard F Outcault in the comic strip Hogan's Alley (and later under other names as well), it was one of the first Sunday supplement comic strips in an American newspaper, although its graphical layout had already been thoroughly established in political and other, purely for entertainment cartoons.
