1977 Photo -Portrait of a Girl- by Joan Miro as Museum - This is an original press photo. "Portrait of a Girl" by Joan Miro. Kiam collected the work of several artists who especially appealed to him, in particular the great Spanish painter Miro, whom he knew personally. The five European artists in the bequest are each represented by two or more works. Miro is represented by four paintings, spanning five decades of his career. Among the works in the bequest are a rare Fauve landscape by Braque, painted in the fall of 1906; a 1937 still life by Picasso, done a few months before his famous "Guernica," an early 1925 abstraction, "Lady Strolling on the Rambia in Barcelona," by Miro; a 1946 painting by Dubuffet, "Paul Leautaud in a Caned Chair," described by the museum spokesman as one of a "Series of brutal portraits that established him as the most important post-World War II French artist"; and a 1948 drip painting by the pioneer abstract expressionist Pollock.Photo measures 8.25 x 10inches.
