Pennsylvania, circa 1780, deeply shaped back with scrolled arms, mahogany Marlboro legs with stretchers, 36 x 93 x 30 in.

Provenance: Bought at auction in the early 1800's by Dr. Philip Syng Physick, for his Maryland home, 'Octorara', To his granddaughter, Mrs. Philip S. P. Conner; To her son, Edward Conner; who sold his share of the house and furniture to his sister, Mrs. Arthur (Camilla) Hale; To her granddaughter, Elsa Noble; To her cousin, Edward Conner. Ginsburg and Levy, New York; A Private New Jersey Estate

visible frame in good condition, patch and repair at back of one of center rear leg, typical bumps and wear at front legs, formerly fitted with casters, now removed, modern upholstery with scattered light wear and fading, frame not examined under upholstery
