BIOGRAPHY:
Sports was one of the many subjects that interested Mervin Honig who is represented in the National Art Museum of Sport with three paintings: "Action Portrait of Jimmy Connors, Queens Stadium, New York," "Usher at Shea Stadium, Queens," and "Casey Stengel." Honig's work also is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.Among the many museum and gallery exhibits of Honig's work during his lifetime were joint exhibits with his wife. In addition to painting, Honig also taught at Hofstra University and the Art Students League in New York, and was a painting conservator.
