An Indian Mail And Plate Shirt 17th Century, Probably Deccani Waist length and comprising alternating rows of riveted and solid iron rings of varying degrees of thickness, short sleeves, open up the front and with three rows of rectangular lamellar plates at the back, the central ones each with cusped lower edge, the front with four curved rectangular plates flanked by narrower plates under the arms, each of the larger plates carrying two transverse riveted bars with flower-shaped terminals and lacing loops, the right front plate with incised Arabic inscription (old rust patination, areas of damage and minor repairs) 70 cm. long Footnotes: See footnote to following lot For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
