Description
Archaic, circa 8th-7th century B.C. Broad dished bowl with carinated profile, flat rim with slashed detailing, band of reserved advancing lions and swans; central panel roughened for grinding. Cf. fragment of a similar vessel in the British Museum under accession no.1888,0601.762. 3.3 kg, 33.5 cm wide (13 1/4 in.).
