AN EARLY 19TH CENTURY FRENCH SILVER MUSICAL SNUFF BOX
maker S.B, Paris, c.1820, of deep rectangular form, the hinged cover opened by an applied scrolling thumbpiece, the interior featuring a stepped platform which covers a wind-up musical movement, winding hole to the underside of the base (no key), two control buttons to the front, engine-turned all over. 9cm long
The marks are legible. The hinged cover opens and closes well. Lacking two pins to secure the base/musical movement. There is a small dint in the pinned cylinder.
