Formed by Tool leader Maynard James Keenan after he heard former guitar tech and guitarist Billy Howerdel's songs, the pair gathered a group of veteran musicians to create the lineup. The buzz around the group's debut was such that the album debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. the highest debut by a rock band ever at the time. Tracks "Judith", "3 Libras", and "The Hollow" all reached the top 20 of the Billboard US Modern Rock and Mainstream Rock charts.

Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Platinum award is a first presentation award that would have been manufactured sometime in 2000 making this award approximately 21 years old. This award is presented to EMI Music Distribution.

The award is all original with Jewel Box Platinum manufacturer's sticker on its back. This award is in VG to Excellent condition, with only a very minor mar or two on the frame and plexiglass.

These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear.
