Comor 18kt Yellow Gold Open Face Keyless Lever Perpetual Calendar Moonphase Pocket Watch C1970s
Dial: A Beautiful two tone silvered satin finished chapter ring with Roman numerals. The four satin finished subsidiary dials for day, leap- year cycle with month, date and seconds combined with aperture for moon phases. Blued steel Breguet style moon hands. The dial is signed Comor, La Chaux de Fonds.
Case: The heavy 18kt yellow gold engine-turned case back with vacant circular polish cartouche. polished bezel. Beneath the bezel are the setting levers for all the functions on the dial. The inner cover with exhibition back to view the movement. The case has Swiss hallmarks for 18kt and is signed Comor Watch and numbered.
Movement: The superb gold-coloured movement is fully hand engraved with scrolls, garlands, flowers and birds, micrometer regulation, jewelled to the centre arbour, lever escapement and signed Comor.
The Comor Watch Company was located in La Chaux de Fonds Switzerland not far from Berne. The company had a history prior to the 1960s but it came to prominence when Dr Adolf Benz purchased the company at about that time. He produced a few watches during the period which he owned the company which was about 20 years.?
