Leica IIIc Betriebskamera no.250 with Leica-Motor prototype ex. Leitz Museum *
Item Details
Description
An extremely rare and highly sophisticated clockwork motor, designed after WWII by the Leitz engineer and Head of Camera Research Willi Wiesner as a replacement for MOOLY. This prototype's most distinctive feature is round, detachable clockwork housing. I s equipped with two controls - one switch for single exposures and serial photos, one for detaching the motor. Exactly this motor is shown and described in L. Netopil 'Prototype Leica' on pages 249-253, only a few of these motor drives are known to exist, only two are completely finished and working. Included with this amazing prototype is a beautiful Leica IIIc Betriebskamera no.250 (engraving with the matching number inside on the chassis), and a special Elmar 3.5/5cm no.603930* (marked with an asterisk after the serial number).
