Contains eight pages of paintings demonstrate the Eight Views of Xiaoxiang, a collection of scenes from the Xiaoxiang region, located in modern Hunan Province, China. These scenes have been the inspiration for poems, drawings, and paintings since the Song Dynasty. The Xiaoxiang theme forms a part of a long-standing poetic and artistic legacy. According to the notes to the back of the album, it was in the collection of Akimoto Okitomo (1857?1917), who at the time held the hereditary rank of viscount. The 16 in. high, 11 in. wide.
