Quarter plate tintype depicting a portrait of a Civil War Union soldier posed with his rifle. Housed under a plate of glass in a stamped brown leather and wood case.
Provenance: Property from the distinguished collection of Mr. James Lee Soffer, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Condition
There appears to be a slight crease to the plate along the lower right quadrant. Some discoloration to the gold-tone metal border. Wear including some small losses to the leather case. Lacking one half of the case.
