A striking example of antique craftsmanship, with a pierced wood, hand-painted frame adorned with countless glass tiles. Inset in the headboard are several framed glass shadow boxes, containing what are likely religious relics or icons of great importance or interest. Likely Thai or Balinese, adorned in the fashion of other 19th century examples. Measures 77" in length, 37" in width, with a headboard height of 35.5". Intricately carved throughout, with areas of a delicate nature, most namely the headboard, which would benefit from a restoration to original condition [most appealing subject of the bed, adorned with reliquaries]. It has losses to the glass-tiled trim [we have many of them stored], and areas of wear, as well as a headboard that has a distinct bow. The headboard has an old repair, but it is intact and looks to be complete. Cushion is a later replacement. A superb example, regardless. Please refer to the photos provided for further details.
