Description
Circa 1880, A true Victorian bench, constructed using quartersawn oak. It has a strong presence, with finely-carved figural Griffin armrests. Storage under the seat, adding practicality. Under the furry paw feet are period casters, for ease of movement. Quite bold.
Condition
Expected rubs and wear [modest], but it shows quite well, a true Victorian statement piece. Surface scratches to the front-bottom corner, shown in photos. Scattered finish flakes, commensurate with age [1880]. Please refer to photos for further details.
