A 1994 Guild Brian May BM01 solid body electric guitar, serial #ME 00179, in cherry red finish, owned and played by Randy Bachman, who has sold 40 million records worldwide as a member of The Guess Who, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, and as a solo artist.

The BM01 is a replica of the Queen guitarist’s famous “Red Special” which Brian built as a young man with his father Harold sometime in the 1960s. Where the original was built using fireplace wood, an oak fingerboard, and mahogany veneers on the front and back of the body, the Guild BM01 has a mahogany body and neck, a 24 inch scale length 24-fret ebony fingerboard, a roller bridge, and three Seymour Duncan Brian May pickups. The guitar also features on/off and individual phase reversal switches for each pickup, master volume and tone controls, and a vibrato system based on the bespoke device found on Brian’s original, built by him and his father.
