Vintage Sterling Grecian Intaglio Carnelian Ring, Sz. 11.5, 1940's-1950's could be slightly earlier. This is not the usual Roman soldier intaglio but more of Grecian look from back in the Helen of Troy era. The ring is appx. 1-1/8" down the finger and 3/4" across the finger. The carnelian stone is bezel-set and open in the back. This ha a rustic design, likely hand made with the silver at the upper undercarriage is rough. The upper sides of the band are wide at appx. 13.5mm wide and taper to 5mm at the back of the finger. The intaglio carving is an intricate carving of crossed lines creating the image. It is in good condition, has some war but quite appealing. The weight of the ring is appx. 7.11 gr. It does have oxidation that does polish away. (W12823.1X1 SS9628 J LD 2/19/23)
