Description
Salon des Cent by Toulouse–Lautrecis a Fine Art hand pulled Lithograph. In 896, Henri De Toulouse–Lautrec was commissioned by Le Salon des Cent to create a poster for its exhibition. In addition to publicizing their permanent, constantly changing exhibition of it's members works, The Salon built up a huge collection of original posters from many countries, and acted as both wholesaler and retailer of these works. The collection included all of Alphonse Mucha's posters and paintings, and many by Henri de Toulouse–Lautrec. Henri De Toulouse–Lautrec was a French painter, printmaker, draughtsman, caricaturist and illustrator whose immersion in the colorful and theatrical life of Paris in the late 19th century allowed him to produce a collection of enticing, elegant, and provocative images of the sometimes decadent affairs of those times. The lithograph was recreated using the same hand pulled process on a vintage press in 1997 by renown chromist, Jean Pierre Remond. Includes certificate of authenticity from S2 Art Group. Additional images available upon request. Measures 27 x 19 in.
