This 1914 Alfred Everitt Orr Framed Yard Long Panama Flapper Girl is a Chromolithograph not a print. You can get prints of this fairly cheap, but lithographs are harder to come by. The lithograph measures 35” X 7” with Artist signature on bottom left corner and the date 1914, Frame measures 38” x 9 1/8” and is a gesso frame. The frame has one spot that has lost the gesso (see photo), but has been repainted with gold leaf.
A little history: Alfred Everett Orr. Painter. Born in NYC on Jan 6 1886. Orr was active in San Gabriel CA during 1918-1925. Alfred Everitt Orr was an American painter active in the early 20th century and studied at the Mark Hopkins Institute of Art in San Francisco and in Paris. His career began in 1896 and spanned over three decades. During this time he painted a number of still life’s and landscapes, often depicting the natural beauty of California's Central Valley. One of his most famous works is the 1912 painting “Sheep Grazing in a Valley”, which hangs in the California State Capitol in Sacramento. His work was also featured in a number of major exhibitions, including the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition and the 1915 San Francisco World’s Fair.
