Vintage Hutschenreuther Selb Bavaria Germany Hand Painted Fish Platter & Plates Signed are in excellent condition. NO fading, chips, cracks, or crazing. The backstamp is a 1939 - 1965 Hutschenreuther Selb LHS Bavaria Germany mark. The platter measures 23” x 9 ½”. There are 5 plates of which two (8") are original and signed by the artist that hand painted the platter (Lola); the other three(~7 3/4") certainly go well with the design. There is some slight wear on the gold around the edges(Gold leaf could be reapplied).
A little history: Vintage Hutschenreuther Selb Bavaria Germany Hand Painted Fish Platter & Plates Signe little history: The Hutschenreuther porcelain business was founded in 1814 by Carolus Magnus Hutschenreuther (1794–1845) in Hohenberg an der Eger, Bavaria, Germany. He had previously worked at the Wallendorf porcelain manufactory in Lichte (Wallendorf). After his death in 1845, the factory was headed by his widow, Johanna Hutschenreuther, and her two sons. A large part of the factory was destroyed by a fire in 1848, but it was rebuilt. From 1860, they produced hand-painted and gilded porcelain products all the way up until the 1960’s.; Vintage Hutschenreuther Selb Bavaria Germany Hand Painted Fish Platter & Plates Signed are in excellent condition.
