Description: A rare and impressive Yotsubishi fountain pen decorated with gold dust togadashi maki-e and gold, silver and black pigments on black urushi ground with three ravens (karasu), one in flight on the cap and two perched on the barrel. Gold-plated clip with Yotsubishu's "four diamonds" emblem, 14K rolled gold cap ring. 136mm. Signed by the artist (kanji unknown). #3 14K gold Special heart-vent nib, slight to medium flex. A charismatic and compelling pen depicting the clever karasu, known in the West as crows or ravens, which have long figured in folklore and mythology as emissaries of the gods and harbingers of good fortune.
