Chinese Ming Dynasty Xuande Blue and White Porcelain Bowl. Potted with a shallow body, slight deep, thick and bulbous body, with angled cavetto elevated the steep sides upward the flaring mouth rim, raised on a small round, with slight concave footing. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against blue color depicted of flying phoenix through flowers bloom foliage and scrolling interlocking tendril. The Phoenix Feng-Huang represents exquisiteness, goodness, warmth, prosperity, peace, the Sun, abundant harvests, and reason in government. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within blue ring lines. Made in The Years XuanDe Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.
