Chinese Qing Dynasty KangXi Wucai Qilin Porcelain Plate. The plate has a broad wide central interior, rounded mouth lip, thick and large, raised on correspondence footed ring base slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against wucai design color, depicted of flying Qilin through flowers bloom foliage vapors and flaming ruyi clouds. Qilin are extraordinarily beautiful creatures, sparkling like gems and adorned in flames. With their scaly bodies and horned heads, they resemble Chinese dragons. Qilin are symbol of luck, good omens, protection, prosperity, success, and longevity by the Chinese. Whatever their special attraction, they always move gracefully and dazzle the mortals who see them.The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within blue ring lines. Made in The Years KangXi Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
