Chinese Qing Dynasty Blue and White Porcelain Brush Pot. Potted in cylindrical body, thick, gently tapered to straight close round mouth rim, with deep concave to input the moabi brush, raised with short round foot base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against blue color, depicted of elder perform rituals of worshiping the ancestors followed by their escort. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the under glaze greyish-blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue-black. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design.The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark greyish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim. Made in The Years Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
