Description

A 18th century bronze bell by Robert Wells of Aldbourne Foundry, Wiltshire, marked R. Wells Aldbourne Fecit, height 42cm, diameter 34cm

Provenance - believed to have come from Whitley Abbey. The vendors grandfather was a game keeper at Whitley Abbey (Coventry) in the 1920s and lived in the Water Mill on the estate. At the time, it was owned by Lord and Lady Peertree.

Condition Report:

Lacks clapper
Has been outside for many years with (suspected) weather deterioration, especially to the top
