Description
A late 19th to early 20th century oil painting of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament on the Thames under moonlight, with mother of pearl detailing and inset clock to the tower, the frame with moulding and garlands, image size 46cm x 36cm, together with a large mid 19th century firescreen with inset Berlin woolwork panel depicting two ladies kneeling before an elder, the mahogany frame with barley twist sides and carved borders, height 132cm x 91cm. Condition Report:
Oil painting:
- Framed 68cm x 56cm
- The clock is not currently working - please note that the internal mechanisms and parts contained within this item are not inspected and therefore not known if complete, damaged or inoperable. It may be a replacement movement
- The whole is very dusty / dirty with surface residue.
- There are losses and chipping to the frame
- Has been removed from a cold / damp house

- Slightly faded
- Some staining, more apparent to reverse
- Scuffs, nicks, knocks and dents to the frame.
