Description
The Jarvie Shop copper teapot, Chicago circa 1910. A very rare and unusual custom ordered hammered copper teapot. The vessel exhibits exquisite hammering, even on the underside, crafted from thick gauge copper. A stylized heart motif can be seen in the rolled and turned finial as well as on the large handle. The lid overhangs the body, outlined in large rivets, identical to the humidor lid pictured in Chicago Metalsmiths. The HC monogram is classic Prairie School and is crafted with small hammering marks. This monogram has turned up on one other set of copper ware by Jarvie. interior tin lined. Measures 7” tall and 4.5” wide.
