This piece has been kept in the original vintage condition as it was received?all original Rolex parts and movement. The movement is in excellent condition, while the exterior is in fair condition. A vintage Rolex Oster bracelet was later added to the case. The chronograph functions are in working condition.

Scope: Comes complete with a vintage Rolex box, Rolex literature/pamphlet papers, and a certificate of appraisal. The watch face is the original Pre-Daytona 6234, with all original parts. The vintage Rolex bracelet is an authentic Rolex bracelet that was later attached to the 6234 case.

This Pre-Daytona is an earlier production run, as the overlapping sub dials were a hangover from the 6034 and eventually Rolex stopped designing watches with overlapping sub dials.

The pre-Daytona Rolex comprised of the 6034, 6234, and 6238, and were the inspiration for the famous Daytona design that Paul Newman brought to ubiquity. Experts estimate that only 2,300 of the 6234 were ever produced from their production run in 1955-1961. Pre-Daytonas were handmade to an extent and thus have slight variations, like subdial size or anti-magnetic position.
