Soft-covered booklet with many photographs detailing the approach to Rome, beginning on the beaches of Paestum and Salerno on 9 September 1943 and leading to the capture of Rome on 4 June 1944. Published by Head Quarters of the Fifth Army, (Rome or Milan Italy), 1944.
Published in 1944 before the end of World War II. A fascinating contemporary look into the actual conditions that the troops were facing. This item was "Passed for Publication by Field Press Censor." The publication was apparently made for the soldiers who were issued such copies before going home. Set in interesting and colorful wraps.
