He was even the recipient of his praise song. At the height of his reign in 1710, he commissioned an idealized portrait statue called ndop, which are idealized and stylized depiction of deceased Kuba leaders. It is generally agreed that ndop figures are not exact representations of leaders, but are depictions of kingship. This wooden carving is attributed to the African Kuba People of the Congo and is a representation of the 18th century Kuba King Mishé miShyááng máMbúl. This wooden male figure sits cross-legged on a black wooden base and there is a tall object which is an offering container in front of him. Also, bracelets, armbands, and shoulder hoops are featured with the right hand resting on the right leg.
