A Large Silver Crown Frontal and 3 Pectorals Tiwanaku culture, Bolivia, c. 400-700 AD Sheet silver alloy cut in forms similar to the traditional blade (tumi) used as both a weapon, a cutting tool, and a sign of royalty throughout the ancient Andes. The crown frontal has a stepped band with ten open-work step designs, the curving blade form above also cut at end points with an inverted step. Silver wire wrapped around the post of the blade. The three pectorals or pendant below also a type of tumi with handle. The handles pierced twice for suspension. All in very good condition. Attractively mounted together on a custom metal stand.
