A Sioux Courting Flute Once Belonging to Weasel Bear c. 1870 wood, metal, silk and cotton cloth, pitch, sinew; accompanied by a framed color photo, inscribed Weasel Bear, An Oglala Sioux born in 1865. He was in the Indian camp on the Little Bighorn when Custer was defeated. Also, in Ghost Dance trouble in 1890. He sold me his Indian flute which he said belonged to his uncle who made it in the 1870's. Photo taken in 1954 at Pine Ridge.
