Description
Early 19th century in cherry. The chest descended in the family of Nellie Hatchett (1870-1966) and Thomas Hatchett (1868-1961), and resided at a farmhouse in in what was known as Bear Wallow in Barren County, KY. The family geneological information is inscribed to notecards, and an image of the home is included in the drawer. A single drawer sugar chest, with original divider to interior, on turned legs. Ht. 31.5", wd. 23.5", dp. 18.5".
Condition
In an unrestored state. Some marks to top, a dinstinctive knot to hinged top. A few age splits to sides, and slightly loosened at legs.
