This lot includes the actual 2 books that were used as props in the painting! The green book, Poetical Works of Pope, is inscribed on the fly leaf to Lila's father, George Hetzel. Provenance: gift from the artist to a close family friend. Lila Hetzel was born in Edgewood, Pittsburgh, and was the daughter of George Hetzel who founded the Scalp Level School.
