Description
Ancient Central Asia, Indus Valley, Harappan / Mohenjo-Daro civilization, ca. 2700 to 1900 BCE. An ensemble of 2 hand-built pottery vessels including a squat spherical jar with stippling around the neck and a register of minimalist ibexes around the midsection as well as a squat bowl with a piscine motif across the exterior. Size (fish bowl): 3.5" L x 3.4" W x 2.7" H (8.9 cm x 8.6 cm x 6.9 cm); (ibex jar): 3.1" L x 3.2" W x 2.625" H (7.9 cm x 8.1 cm x 6.7 cm)

Provenance: private southern California, USA collection, acquired before 2000

Condition
Repair and restoration to fish bowl, with resurfacing and overpainting along new material and break lines; ibex jar is intact. Each vessel with light earthen deposits and fading to pigment, otherwise in nice condition. Great preservation to original motifs across exterior surfaces.
