A redware pottery jar of sizable piriform construction with a round but stable base, a flared rim, and sloping walls adorned with a trio of stylized lizards bearing almond-shaped eyes and sinuous tails painted with white pigment. The Moche were very skilled ceramicists who, though probably illiterate, created visual culture that interpreted their world for us to "read" as is evident by this example.
