Native American, Midwestern United States, Missouri, Adair County, ca. Archaic to Woodlands period, ca. 8000 BCE to 1500 CE. A collection of 4 hammerstones or tools, each worked by human hands with flaking to the surfaces, formed into roughly spherical forms for use as hammerstones to strike flakes off other stones or bones to create tools. Size: 3" L x 2.5" W (7.6 cm x 6.4 cm)
