Description

Glen Pollard (Haida, British Columbia, Canada, 1957 to present), ca. 20th to 21st century CE, "Whale & Raven." A hand-carved argillite pipe depicting a whale with its mouth at the feet of a stern-eyed raven. The eyes of each animal are comprised of inlaid nacre (mother-of-pearl), and the verso bears an inscribed signature reading "Glen Pollard". Size: 5.75" L x 0.875" W x 1.4" H (14.6 cm x 2.2 cm x 3.6 cm)
