These master distribution cards were introduced to control the consumption of food and other goods. Genealogy cards were personal. Only with a registration card could you also receive vouchers that could be used to purchase food and other goods. These cards were used before the start of the war; this copy was released in 1939. With the help of breeding cards and vouchers, an attempt was made to distribute scarce products as fairly as possible during the crisis years.
David Hausdorff was a Rotterdammer and an orthodox Jewish man and prominent doctor, in 1943 hid from the Nazis. He was a general practitioner and of great importance to the city and the Jewish community, which was recognized in 1978 by being appointed Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau.
