Vintage c1940 Grandmother's Flower Garden is a Star Setting Quilt measures 76 x 93 inches. It is comprised of 100 complete Flower Garden rosettes, set on point and staggered, 5 by 20. The hexagons measures .75" along one side. The rosettes each have a solid yellow center, followed by a ring of solid, and a ring of a coordinating print, some are specialty or fussy cut and they are in a star setting with a bright pink garden path and green star points. Partial blocks set the quilt along the top and bottom. There is a bright pink 2.75 inch border around all 4 sides. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. There is a thin cotton batting and a blue, red, and green floral cotton feedsack print reverse. The edges are finished knife edge style and finished by hand with a double row of running stitches along the perimeter. It is in good condition with only a few small spots. This quilt is part of the Estate of widely respected Sharon Stark of Sharon's Antiques Vintage Fabrics and Textiles of Eastern PA. She was an author and long time collector and dealer of antique quilts, fabrics and textiles. Sharon was THE authority on Feedsacks, and you may remember her Rickrack website.
