Large Multiples Lot of About 287 Printed Duplicate Items Including, Medical Forms and Woodrow Wilson Prints and (2) 1932 Lindbergh Kidnaping $25,000 Reward Broadsheets, Lot Sold "as is", Overall from Very Fine / Extremely Fine to Near Mint.
This Large Assorted Multiples Lot contains about 287 items and is being Sold "as is" no return. It Includes:
(135) c. 1936) Opium or Coca Leaves Medical Partially-Printed Completed Order Forms from the U.S. Treasury Department, average Extremely Fine. Although dated by hand in 1943, these are Series of 1936 issues. Printed on a greenish security paper, with ornate, engraved borders all around and an engraved image of poppy flowers (the source of opium) in the upper left corner. Average EF.
(108) 1926 Dated, Alcohol Prescription Forms from the NATIONAL PROHIBITION ACT, filled out and completed, mostly EF to Near Mint. These scarce Federal Treasury Department, Internal Revenue prescription form for a carefully controlled substance during the 1920s and 1930s -- ALCOHOL! An interesting item from a unique era in our history. This is a record of a prescription for "Spts Frumenti" (Spiritus Frumenti, a euphemism for alcohol), to be taken "as directed!" These 6" x 6.75" documents are printed in black and red was issued under the authority of the NATIONAL PROHIBITION ACT and was numbered in "The Modern Drugstore's" prescription book.
(2) c. 1870, San Francisco Lyric Sheets: "Since Mary Ann LEARNED HOW TO DANCE THE Tra-la-la-loo", Published by Bell & Company, San Francisco, CA, Choice Very Fine. Plus, "Since Mary Ann LEARNED HOW TO DANCE THE Tra-la-la-loo," San Francisco, CA, Choice Very Fine. The lyric sheet, 11.25" x 4.5", is "Published and sold, wholesale and retail, by BELL & COMPANY, General Publishers of Songs and Ballads, Booksellers, Stationers and Periodical Agents, No. 639 Kearny Street, - San Francisco." The lyrics are printed in black down the center of the page with a decorative border surrounding. The chorus, though only printed once in its entirety, is repeated three times as follows: "Since Mary Ann learned how to dance, / I don't know what to do; / She's out all night till broad daylight, / A dancing the Tra-la-la-loo." Usual fold, minor toning, top and bottom edges are slightly frayed; else very fine.
(16) 1942, World War II Color Posters: "WE CAN... WE WILL ... WE MUST !," Buy War Bonds..., dated 1942, Mint. Each measures 11.25" high x 21.5" wide, on heavy wove paper, multicolored, Published by the U.S. Govt. Printing Office. An outstanding Patriotic poster. The large American Flag is boldly flying from a hand carried staff with Eagle at top, FDR's slogan in a box at left along with a small portrait of the famous Lexington Minuteman.
(26) c. 1914 to 1916 W.W.I Period, President Woodrow Wilson, Large Vignette Engraved Prints by G.F.C. Smillie, Near Mint. Sizes vary slightly with each Print measuring about 5.5" x 4" uncolored engraved image is mounted to 14" x 10.75" yardstick. Exquisitely detailed print by Smillie was completed during Wilson's term of office, and has the artist's signature and year of printing typeset worked into the lower edge of Wilson's coat pocket. Lightly toned image on this near flawless engraving; perfect for matting, framing and display. Portrait is similar to the one that was used on the 1934 $100,000 Federal Reserve Note.
