Description
North America, United States, ca. 19th century CE. A pair of scrimshaw whale rib bones with scenes of whaling vessels and whales etched into both sides. There are fully rigged sailing ships with the smaller deployed rowboats and harpooners both successfully and unsuccessfully killing the sperm whales. Size: 6" L x 1.5" W (15.2 cm x 3.8 cm)
